Bipolar disorder is a very difficult and confusing condition to deal with. Individuals with bipolar disorder suffer from periods of extreme depression and mania and are often confused and do not understand their illness. In addition, bipolar disorder can be difficult to diagnose until it has run its course for several months.
As with treatment for any other mental disorder, medication for bipolar disorder has to be suited for the individual, and in most cases, medications will have to be adjusted several times before a combination is found that is most effective for the individual. As both aspects of bipolar disorder must be addressed, more than one medication will most likely be used, increasing the number of drug interactions and difficult side effects.
The Brain Treatment Center Offers An Alternative For Bipolar Disorder
Using EEG technology, an individual's condition can be electrophysiologically linked to brainwave activity. Unlike traditional medication regimens where there is no assurance that the primary prescription will fit, accurate EEG analysis can be used to determine the proper course of action with TMS* (transcranial magnetic stimulation) treatment.
Bipolar disorder treatment must be closely monitored, as both depression and mania can be affected by improper treatment. With minimal side effects, ranging from a minor headache to a slight feeling of euphoria, TMS is unique both in scope of potential and as treatment with minimal risk. By adjusting baseline brainwave frequencies and restoring the brain to normal resonant frequencies, individuals become less prone to depression and mania, causing life stressors to no longer be a trigger for an episode of depression or mania.
Trouble Diagnosing Bipolar
Bipolar disorder is classified as possessing two dimensions: depression and mania. The two states are included in the diagnosis of bipolar disorder. If the condition is properly treated, however, and the depression is coincidental: secondary to another condition, the treatment is compromised. The Brain Treatment Center has dealt with this problem before, and with proper analysis, any hidden primary conditions can be identified with proper analysis.
